With the start of a new year comes new goals, resolutions and expectations of what we might achieve. In addition to fitness goals, I always reflect on what I want to learn and which skills I want to develop. In 2013, I hope to read more, judge less and find new things I enjoy doing outside of daily responsibility.
Studies show that the more new things you learn, the sharper your mind and body will be, and that is directly linked to happiness.
For me, community learning makes sense. It gives me the opportunity to take something for a test drive, without the financial or time commitment of continuing education. It also allows me to meet other people who are interested in the same things as me.
In the new year, I encourage you to make the initiative to learn something new.
