Hi there! I hope things have been good for you. It’s been all good on my end. We have been working on the veggie garden and planting flowers. The dandelions have been blooming a lot and those are one of my favorite treats.
Have you been on any adventures lately? We were able to go to a very special place. We went to the Lakewood Discovery Center. It is my new favorite place, after the library of course.
They have pretty walking trails and a little lake. I couldn’t walk the trails myself or I would get lost, so my sister carried me in my pouch. They have a big building that has some really neat stuff in it too.
They had some fish and turtles.
They even had snakes! I will admit that the snakes scared me a little bit.
I learned how important bees are while we were there too. The bees help pollinate plants by carrying pollen from one flower to another. If there were no bees then I might not get my dandelions. That would be awful!
My biggest sister is scared of bees, but mama said that there is no reason to be scared. She said that if you don’t bother them then they won’t bother you. We just need to let them do their thing and buzz about happily. Mama likes to grow lots of flowers that the bees really like. I wonder what it would be like to fly around like a bee. I think dandelions would still be my favorite even if I was a bee.
I can’t wait to go back to the Discovery Center. There is so much more to learn about nature and animals. Until next time, bye!
P.S. If you want to learn more about nature and animals you can always stop by the library and check out some books. Here are some of my mama and sister’s favorites.
“Wildflowers“ by Libby Romero
“Prairies“ by Melissa S. Cole
“Nature Walk“ by Douglas Florian
“These Bees Count!“ by Alison Formento
“Please Please the Bees“ by Gerald Kelley
