Employment Opportunities

Salina Public Library values staff who are lifelong learners, conscientious of the needs of the community and eager to serve the public. SPL serves the greater Salina area and is located on the north end of the city’s beautiful, revitalized downtown. The library checks out half a million items annually to 35,000 cardholders. The building sees, on average, 10,000 visitors a month. We deliver to child care, homebound patrons and assisted living facilities. Programming is offered to support patrons’ exploration of a wide range of topics from traditional storytimes and book clubs to art exhibits, yoga, technology and much more.

Additional Benefits for Full-Time Employees

    Membership is effective immediately upon hire.
  • Health, Prescription & Dental Insurance (75% Employer/ 25% Employee)
  • PTO
    After 6 months of service, paid time off is provided. Each year additional PTO is provided depending upon
    years of service worked at the Library.
  • Sick Leave
    4 hours are accrued per pay period
  • Personal Leave
    16 hours after 1 year of service
  • Holidays
    The Library closes to the public and observes the following holidays. Full-time Library employees receive 10.5
    paid holidays and 2 floating holidays.
