Friends of the Library
The Friends of the Salina Public Library is an organization of volunteer members dedicated to providing visible support for Salina Public Library by raising and donating funds to the library, initiating and sponsoring activities and events, and providing volunteers for library activities.
Membership Levels & Annual Dues
- $5 Student
- $10 Individual
- $25 Family
- $50 Benefactor
- $100 Single Lifetime
- $250 Family Lifetime
You can also pick up a membership form at the Library's adult circulation desk. If a person has had difficulties due to COVID this year, their membership fee can be waived.
Perks of Membership
In addition to supporting the library, Friends members enjoy these benefits:
- Enroll in CLASS courses one day before registration opens.
- Incur no daily late fines on library items. Friends are responsible for lost or damaged items. Items are considered lost once 28 days overdue.
- Attend the Friends Book Sale Preview Night

The Friends Board includes 12 members who are elected to three-year terms.

Joe McKenzie Youth Scholarship
The Friends of the Salina Public Library award scholarships for teen Library volunteers. Students who meet the requirements may be eligible for $500-$1500 scholarships annually.
