June 19, 2018 – Comedian and juggler Richard Holmgren will bring his Flying Debris Show to the Eric Stein Stage in Oakdale Park as a part of Salina Public Library’s Summer at the Library program. Holmgren will perform at 6:30 p.m. June 28.
Holmgren was born a jokester and learned to juggle in fourth-grade gym class. He incorporated his comedy and juggling stunts with audience participation and, in 1994, he began performing The Flying Debris Show. He has performed at the Winter City Festival in Toronto, Canada, and remote villages in Mexico, and many places in between.
Summer at the Library includes children’s performers, like Holmgren; storytimes; art and discovery programs; math, reading and technology classes; and family movies. The library is calling on the community to demonstrate the value of reading by helping to reach the goal of 25,000 books read. Each book read this summer, from May 21 to July 20, can be logged toward the goal. As of June 19, 7,927 books have been logged.
