July 10, 2018 – To close out Salina Public Library’s Summer at the Library, rockin’ dad, Jim Cosgrove, will perform at 10:30 a.m. July 20 on Eric Stein Stage, Oakdale Park.
Cosgrove, also known as “Mr. Stinky Feet,” has delighted audiences for over two decades with his high energy, interactive concerts. He has performed throughout North America and Europe, including two performances at the White House. His discography includes “Swimming in Noodles” (2010), “Pick Me! Pick Me!” (2003) and “Stinky Feet” (1999). He has won two Gold National Parenting Publication Awards, seven Parents’ Choice Awards and “Favorite Entertainer” by Kansas City Parent Magazine, and published “Everybody Gets Stinky Feet,” a collection of 32 essays from his time as a parenting columnist for The Kansas City Star.
Summer at the Library includes children’s performers, like Cosgrove; storytimes; art and discovery programs; math, reading and technology classes; and family movies. The library is calling on the community to demonstrate the value of reading by helping to reach the goal of 25,000 books read. Each book read this summer, from May 21 to July 20, can be logged toward the goal. As of July 10, 14,930 books have been logged.
