Salina Public Library will close at 4:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 17, to allow for maintenance work.
The Family History Detectives meeting will move to the McKenzie Center, 308 W. Elm. The CLASS program’s painting class at Blue Barn Door will be held as scheduled. All other library programs planned for that evening are canceled.
The library is expected to reopen at 9 a.m. Friday, Oct. 18. Please check the library’s website or Facebook page for updates.

Amy Adams is the library’s assistant director. She is a native Salinan and received a B.A. in English from Bethel College in North Newton. Amy is a voracious reader, picking up anything from fantasy, graphic novels and pop fiction to classics and literary fiction. Her more homespun hobbies include cooking, failing as a gardener, writing, singing and laughing a lot with her husband, children and friends.
