GivingTuesday was launched in 2012 as a simple idea: to create a day that encourages people to do good. Over the past ten years, this idea has grown into a global movement that inspires hundreds of millions of people to give, collaborate, and celebrate generosity.

People demonstrate generosity in many ways on GivingTuesday.

GivingTuesday has raised billions of dollars for critical causes around the world and gets 21 billion impressions on social media from people and organizations speaking up for the causes that matter to them and encouraging others to get involved in their communities.

Even in times of economic uncertainty, we each have a deep reserve of generosity.

As you know, public libraries are known for books and research materials, but they also offer many programs that promote lifelong learning, connect patrons to technology, and so much more.

Salina Public Library’s goal for its inaugural year of participation in GivingTuesday is $2,500.

Your support will go toward the incredible programs, services, materials, and after-school snacks we provide our youth and teens.

Those who are interested in joining our GivingTuesday initiative can visit salinapubliclibrary.org starting Monday, November 28th – Tuesday, November 29th to donate online or stop by the library to donate in person.
