As the excitement of Black Friday and Cyber Monday fades away, we’re greeted by a day that’s even more powerful – Giving Tuesday! It’s the perfect opportunity to support the organizations that make a positive impact on our community. Whether it’s your favorite charity, a cause close to your heart, or your local public library, there are organizations all around us, dedicated to making the world a better place. Giving Tuesday is your chance to be the hero these organizations need. The best part is, there are countless ways to show your support on this global day of giving.
1. Visiting & Attending Events
One of the most effective ways to support your favorite organizations is to immerse yourself in their world. Make it a point to visit them often and show up at their events. Your presence not only boosts their spirits but also serves as a beacon to others, signaling that this is a worthy cause. Staying active with events is also a fantastic way to learn more about the work these organizations do to improve our community.
Salina Public Library always has an incredible lineup of programming and events for you to explore. Tomorrow, we invite you to join us at Gambino’s pizza for our Dine & Donate event, where 10% of the evening’s sales will be donated back to SPL.
2. Social Media Sharing
The power of social media is a force to be reckoned with. Simply sharing posts from your chosen organizations helps to spread their impact far and wide. You can even create your own posts to express your support and encourage your friends and followers to get involved. With just a click of a button, you never know whose heart you might touch or whose life you might change.
You can stay connected by following Salina Public Library on Facebook and Instagram for the latest updates.
3. Volunteering
Your time and skills are extremely valuable resources to give. Many organizations rely heavily on the efforts of volunteers, each person who lends a hand propels them forward in their mission. Consider volunteering to further the mission of your favorite organizations.
SPL is accepting volunteer applications for our ‘Adopt-a-Shelf’ program – a hands-on way to support the work we do.
4. Sharing Your Stories and Thanks
The most magical tales are often those inspired by real-life experiences. Sharing your personal stories and journeys with your favorite organizations can inspire others to support their mission. This, and a simple thank you goes a long way in showing appreciation for their efforts. Let the organizations you appreciate know how much their work means to you.
If you have any enchanting library memories, you can share them here.
5. Donating Directly
The simplest and most impactful way to make a difference is by making a donation directly to your chosen organizations. There’s an inherent joy in giving, knowing that your contribution is actively supporting the things you’re passionate about. When you make a financial gift, it enables your favorite organizations to invest in the resources they currently need to continue making a significant impact. Every contribution, no matter the size, supports their mission.
You can make a Giving Tuesday gift to support SPL’s youth services. Your generosity will help create engaging programs, expand our collection, and nurture young minds. To learn more about supporting SPL this giving season, click here.
