Any time of year is the right time to try something new, especially at the beginning of a new year. The library is a great place to start exploring. Let’s think about how that outlook can apply to your reading.
Perhaps you have a favorite author but have finished their bookography. Try using NovelList Plus, which you can access through the library’s website. Type in the author’s name and see a list of “Read a Likes” to find similar authors. The library also offers a Your Next Read service on its website. You tell us a little about what you are looking for and our book experts will send you a list of suggestions.
But maybe when you think about trying something new, you don’t want something familiar. You want a surprise! Sign up for Mystery Book of the Month. Library staff will select a book and check it out for you. You won’t know what it is until you pick it up and unwrap it. Find the dates on our online calendar.
To help you pick out something different for yourself, take a look at 2024’s Reading Challenge. Each year we offer a list of book categories — like “a book about pirates”! — and you can read titles for each description.
There are so many reading adventures waiting to be had. We hope that your library card can be your ticket to a thrilling year!
My current read: “The Fragile Threads of Power” by V.E Schwab
Melanie’s currently reading: “Trust and Inspire: How Truly Great Leaders Unleash Greatness in Others” by Stephen M. R. Covey
