The Salina Public Library offers many types of Library Cards. Depending on the card type, the account holder can borrow materials, access virtual services and library PCs, and more.

Patron & Youth Cards
To check out physical materials, bring a current photo ID or photo ID and mail with your name and current address.
Youth 17 and younger must have a parent or guardian accept financial responsibility for fines. The responsible party must present a current photo ID or photo ID and mail with your name and current address for the youth to receive a card.
Library cards are issued to Kansas residents. Those who are out-of-state, but are temporarily Kansas residents, such as a student, may be issued a card. There is no charge for a Library card. Patrons who receive a Library card agree to abide by all policies of the Library.
Virtual Card
Saline County residents can apply online for a free virtual library card. This card will give you access to the library’s online services, such as Sunflower eLibrary. Please allow 24-48 hours to receive your virtual card information via e-mail. To update your card to check out physical materials, visit the Library’s Circulation desk and bring your photo ID.
Educator & School Cards
Students and educators at participating schools and school districts may already have a Salina Public Library card.
Students with these cards can checkout up to 10 physical items and access library resources.
Educators residing in the city of Salina or Saline County can receive an Educator Card for extra resources provided by SPL.
