Oct. 16, 2018 – Salina Public Library will encourage children to have some goofy, messy fun for Halloween. An interactive movie will be shown at 2 p.m. Oct. 27 in the Prescott Room. Pumpkin Sensory Play for preschoolers will be Oct. 29 at 10:15. On Halloween, Storytime at 10:15 a.m. will be all about monsters, and in the afternoon, library staff will be out greeting trick-or-treaters in Caldwell Plaza as part of Salina Downtown’s Big BooRama from 4-5:30 p.m.
The classic family film “Hocus Pocus” will be shown for the interactive movie event. Attendees will feel like they are part of the action as they wave glow sticks, dance and enjoy treats. Registration is required for this free event and can be made by calling the library at (785) 825-4624 or on the library’s online calendar at www.salinapubliclibrary.org.
Pumpkin Sensory Play will allow children ages 1-5 to get hands-on and explore pumpkins. They will learn and play at the same time while strengthening fine and gross motor skills. This free event could be messy so children should dress accordingly. No registration is required.
The monster-themed Storytime will be in the Prescott Room and is a chance for children ages 3-5 to enjoy stories, rhymes and music. Costumes are welcome. Storytime is free, and no registration is required.
